Stapleton bench/wall & landscape

Work started this week on a beautiful home in Stapleton.  The clients wanted a larger patio with increased seating and a bit more privacy.  We came up with a design and work started!
First up was the demolition.  It was important that this was quickly and efficiently.  While doing the demo, the slab ended up being much thicker and required a little extra muscle to remove.

Next came the forming and pouring of the patio.  This part went rather quickly, however the forming of the bench and privacy wall took a bit longer.  Rebar & wire mesh were used throughout for reinforcement.

 The concrete pour for the bench/ wall was next.  This had to be done very slowly to make sure all the concrete went into the forms correctly.  After allowing the concrete to set, the forms were pulled and the finishing began.  A smooth surface was used to the bench back and seat, while a texture similar to stucco will be applied to the outside of the wall.

After the bench was completed it was time to add our plant material.  For this home we wanted to provide a screen for the home owner, but we still needed to make sure the trees and plants wouldn't out-grow the area.
